As I typed May 2010, I realised that in another month or so, we are half way gone on this year... I'm leaving that thought right there. . . And Oh April, how you did kick my ass, but in a good way, all in a good way. I got a lot accomplished, and didn't finish some other things, but it all feels positive . . . and many things were added to April's list after writing it on the 1st.
- Finish Marketing plan for design and art businesses - got a little further, not much, this is just NOT my forté... anyone else working on their biz plan and want to team it out somehow?
- Create a working Media/Press kit for my design work and for my artwork - NADA
- PAINT - Clear Goal: Finish 2 large paintings that are in process and begin 2 more paintings in an even larger size. Also finish the 4 small paintings that are in process. - Finished 2 larger, and 3 of the smaller pieces. Canvas ready to go for the 2 even larger ones
- Paint for 2 upcoming shows: A Vision of Squam and another Spring show - Finished the 2 for the Spring Goddess show
- Organise all the gallery research and make some targeted decisions about where to submit: SUBMIT to 3 galleries by the end of April. - NOPE
- Create 1 free card download AND 2-4 new prints for the shop - YES
And the add-ons for April:
- Created and submitted a portfolio to a licensing agent
- Begin illustration comps for a super-secret-super-fun project
- Created 7 new cards for the opening of RooTs Collaborative
- Began design and production on 2012 Calendars for Brush Dance
So, moving right along to May without moaning about what I didn't do in April, and keeping it simple and to the point:
- PAINT: 2 pieces for Squam Art Show, and 1 LARGE piece
- Gallery research, and submission
- Design 5 new Birthday cards
- WEBSITE!
OK, let's go forth and take May with a bit of patience, a handful of good humour and most of all lots of deep breaths of the sweet spring air, because here we GO!
IF you are new to The Meetup or would like to play along, here's the scoop:
- Post a list of your business related goals for the current month on the 1st of each month on your blog. {If the 1st falls on a weekend, post on the following Monday.}
- Come back over here and leave a link to your goals blog post in the comments of my current month's goals.
- And then {and this is the most important part, since we are a community} visit all the links in the comments, stop in and say hello, have a conversation, meet and greet and etc.
