Hi Everyone:
Below is a link to the Squam Art Show Prospectus. All the important detail kind of things are here: deadlines, how to label submissions, e-mail addresses and the such like.

What is not here is the magic and the wonder and the mystery of what you all will create for the show - all the things that will be made from your hands and then hang together, side by side, at artstream. That's some big magic!
So here are some important points that are not listed on the prospectus that is attached, but ones that I think are way more important than how you wire the back of your painting, or label your work.
- If you are feeling unsure about submitting, but a little voice inside is whispering quietly "do it", please listen to that precious voice.
- If you have never shown your work before or have never participated in a group show, and are feeling unsure, but there is a feeling inside you that says "yes", then please listen to that feeling.
- If you had an inkling that you might want to paint or sketch or create, and your experience at Squam in 2008 made that inkling a certainty, then please, please submit.
- If you are a working and showing artist, and not sure if you fit in to the mix here, please know that you do, we all fit in here.
This show has been designed to reflect the open, creative, vital and supportive environment that Elizabeth created for us all last September, and in that spirit this show is about creation and expansion and inclusiveness.
You will also see on the prospectus a section called "Collective Media Submission". Please check it out! We would like all of you to submit something to this category, and they will all be hung in the gallery like prayer flags, like meditations on a moment, like beautiful memories, or maybe even like cocooning butterflies.
CONTACTS:
- If you have any questions about what is detailed out here on the prospectus, there is an e-mail address you can send questions to: squamart@gmail.com
- You can also e-mail me directly at liz.kalloch@gmail.com
- If you have never been to artstream gallery - where the show will reside this September - you can visit them here.
The show is timed in and around Squam Art Workshop September 2009, and briefly here are the opening and reception dates:
We know that not everyone lives in the area and may not be able to attend the Opening Reception which will be the Friday before the start of SAW, and so artstream gallery has offered to host an artist gathering on the Sunday afternoon that SAW closes. As we get closer to September we will be sending out invitations for you to respond to for that event on the 20th.
Another important NOTE: this show is for people who taught at or attended Squam Art Workshop in September 2008.
OK, so, it's time to create!
Liz
