I found these great "Art Panels" in this new art store that just opened down town, and it started me on an idea:
These panels come in all different sizes and shapes, some "cradled" and some flat. So I bought a few in different square sizes and started the first square of the piece, that will all "connect" but be individual entities...
Roughly like this:
The turquoise block is the one I have started.... I may lap over from board to board, and I may just overlap or carry through the theme on the edge of the artboard(s) next to it, and then start something else... we will see how it progresses.
But check these Art Board or Art Panels out at Ampersand Art. I have been playing with gluing canvas onto a hard backing, to take away the stretched feel, and didn't come up with anything too great on my own, but these are wonderful!

The ones I got say they are best for acrylics or oils, but I tried watercolour pencil and gouache and they worked great....
Hi Liz,
Thanks for visiting me and commenting on my charms.
I went to your website and saw your assemblage and collage work. The colors are beautiful! I like your glass bottles and bead additions. And the way the frames complement what is inside is lovely. you definitely have a strong style. Wow!
Hey, I live in the S.F. Bay area too!
