A creative, fun and idea sparking exercise, found on m heart's secret notebooks • wild pages thru HOW thru Facebook. Some may say, "oh what a way to waste an hour", but truly, any endeavor that has me using my brain for creative stretching, is a fun and useful and never wasted time.
Here are the basics:
1 - Go to "wikipedia." Hit “random”
or click http://en.wikipedia.org/wi
The first random wikipedia article you get is the name of your band.
2 - Go to "Random quotations"
or click http://www.quotationspage.com/random.php3
The last four or five words of the very last quote of the page is the title of your first album.
3 - Go to flickr and click on “explore the last seven days”
or click http://www.flickr.com/expl
Third picture, no matter what it is, will be your album cover.
4 - Use Photoshop (or similar) to put it all together.

ha! as you were leaving me a comment to tell me this was up i was over here already looking at it. i've been glued online all day while i work on an i-movie.
this is really nice, i love the color of the photo and the combo of script over the sans serif. this exercise felt a bit like work but in a good way, i experienced the same rush of excitement i get at the very start of a project, before it gets over-analyzed, edited, rewritten, redesigned...

I've justed posted my "cover." I hand-wrote over the picture, trying to make it look hsty.It really just looks lame! But it was fun!

oh my gosh, how FUN! that totally doesn't sound like a wasted hour to me. creative stretching is good for your soul!

Thanks for a wonderful idea. My band is "Hysteria", my title is "we wake in despair" (CS Lewis) and the photo is of a pair of pink ballet slippers abandoned in a field. I want to do this every day! Thanks!
