Does anyone else have a list of things on their "Life's" To-Do List that just seem to get moved from one week to the next, and from one month to the next? Copied and re-copied from one list to another?
All the smaller, vexing and annoying little things get taken care of because there will be something nasty to pay if you don't, or you'll go to jail, or your husband will give you sullen looks for more than a few hours, you know, all those things you could put in the squeeky wheel category.
Somehow in the rush of moving through a day, a week, a month in my world, the goals that are the most dear, that are the most important to my heart, they get pushed further and further out. And so, this brings me to the new and improved goals list and how to keep and manage it:
Jena at her new and truly wonderful blog Modish Biz Tips posted last Friday about a Monthly Goal Meet up and invited anyone who wants to participate. The deal is to put your goals "out there" in a public venue, making yourself not only accountable, but supported by other people who are dealing with the same kinds of things we all are - not enough time in the day, the pesky chores winning out over the larger life goals, oh, and that biggest of buggaboos, yes, procrastination.
So here are my goals for April:
1. Paint all day, one day a week, and see if I can make time for that.
2. Oranise and clean studio AND then keep my working spaces clutter-free and organised
3. Spend at least 5 hours a week looking at ways to market my Etsy shop and increase monthly sales by 15%
4. Re-brand etsy shop and re-design my design website and create a new art website
5. Research and submit work for group shows
6. Advertise and market my design work and get 2-5 new freelance clients for smaller end jobs
7. Develop an editorial calendar and post more regularly to my blog
8. Keep up to date with expenses and tax records
9. Create and post new paper product for the 2 Marketplaces I paid for at Etsy for April
11. Allot more time to work on developing designs for an exciting collaborative project with another artist
OK, there I have it, my goals for April 2009. anyone interested in participating in Jena's Goals invitation, visit over here, and let's get some things done!
*As I was putting this post together an old workmate called me to say she had been laid off and was looking for an intern position so that she could get more print media experience before applying for a new job... OH the power of putting a list out into the world and trying like crazy to envision all these things checked off the list!
Thank you, dear Liz, for sharing this. Here's to visualization and accountability... and getting things done!

What a wonderful list! I'm a big believer in writing things down to help them materialize. Sharing them is even better.
Warm wishes to you.
