April 2010 .:. Monthly Goals

Oh April, you have arrived in a whirl of wind and flowers and sweet smells, some sun and some rain, but a nice balance was reached between the two for the month of March (thanks weather gods and goddesses for talking amongst yourselves and arranging that, it was lovely). And now Spring begins in earnest. We are in fact, one-quarter through our year . . .  and I'll just leave that thought right there . . . 

March: overall a lot of forward momentum, and feeling good about most everything I am working on. A lot of friend gatherings happened in March, some spontaneous dinner parties, a few spontaneous tea parties and one spontaneous out of town visitor. Most all of these gatherings included lots of conversations about art, life, our places in the world, who we are and who we are growing to be, and so many other topics that feed my soul and make me happy to be alive and living this life.

So, this was March:

1. Finish up the Bakery course, and then start implementing all the new tools. Many of the self promotion tools as well as the foundation in creating a biz plan and a marketing plan, are really going to come together to help me with the planning for gallery and shop outreach (see below) - Course finished and working on a marketing plan.
2. Gallery research to continue, and expanding to research some local shops - Work accepted into a new and local Art Collective to open April 28th
3. PAINT - Oh yes!
4. New spring product for the shop - my goal is 6 new prints and 3-4 new card sets. - 4 new card sets completed, and no new prints... still, forward progress...
5. Putting up the first of the informational posts for THE Meetup (look for communications from me to some of you to ask you about writing a few pieces on the topics you mentioned you'd like to write about!) - Great post from Candy on "Making it Work" - and another one coming up soon.
6. Lastly, keep remembering to laugh (or at least breathe and giggle) in the face of the things that I cannot control, or solve right now.  - managed to remember this about 1/2 time, so I call that a success!

And April:

1. Finish Marketing plan for design and art businesses
2. Create a working Media/Press kit for my design work and for my artwork
3. PAINT - Clear Goal: Finish 2 large paintings that are in process and begin 2 more paintings in an even larger size. Also finish the 4 small paintings that are in process.
4. Paint for 2 upcoming shows: A Vision of Squam and another Spring show
5. Organise all the gallery research and make some targeted decisions about where to submit: SUBMIT to 3 galleries by the end of April.
6. Create 1 free card download AND 2-4 new prints for the shop

OK, Happy April to everyone, and let's go forth and create with a brave and open and exuberant heart!
