Oh October, here you are already. I'm just wishing that you'll bring a little fall weather with you, like those blue blue skies you're so famous for... oh and a cool breeze or 2.
So, October is going to be a little different around here. I have much less design work than I usually do, so this month is the time to tie up those dangling loose ends, and also delve into some new endeavors, try on some new things that I've wanted to do, and see where it takes me. It is also a month for much more painting, and that sure doesn't suck, at all.
So September was:
- Continue with the website, set new goal for the end of this month, and keep it moving. - found someone to do the coding, and now I just need to finish up my end
- Newsletter for etsy shop - DONE, and a new one on the way
- Work on developing new products and generate new ideas - new style of prints that sold really well at Squam vendor night, will introduce to the etsy shop, plus, some brand new and different things!
- Marketing... the ever present marketing thing... - yeah, okay, fine
- Attend the September session of Squam, and paint, and dream, and hang with friends . . . - awesome, sublime, challenging, and oh so very wonderful
- Make time to write, everyday. No time limit, just writing. - THIS is fun...
- Celebrate having 6 pieces in the Teeny Tiny Art Show at Three Graces Gallery in Portsmouth NH - the show opens on 3 September and is up through the 26th. - YAY, sold one piece, and all of the work from the show is still available in the on-line store at Three Graces.
- Walk in the woods and smell that September air. - on my return from NH (where I got lots of walks in the woods), we heated up here in the Bay area, so not so much walking, and the autumn air, well, not so autumn-y when it's 100+ for days on end.
And then it's October:
- Website, Website Website - finish it already Liz
- Illustration project(s) - 2 in the works
- Get back to researching and contacting galleries
- Get ready for Holiday time both in my Etsy shop and at RooTs
- Let myself breathe and enjoy the lack of crazy deadlines, "busy" is not always a good end goal.
That pretty much sums me up for October, and how about you all, what's October got in store for you?

I'm so glad you enjoyed Squam and that you sold a piece in NH, Liz! Excited to see your new products too. And I'm with you on the maketing. I have a nice marketing plan that I baked up at the beginning of the year. it needs action.

ooh i should join in on this goal-making and checking thing. i tend to just let the goals fly loose and free and never round them back up... let's just say not a very successful method!
i'm very impressed by your tasks and checkmarks! well done, and i know you had some fun last month too ;n)

Liz, September sounds like a great month. Reconnecting with your writing, friends and art at Squam, and nature in NH all sound very revitalizing. Time for painting in October definitely does not suck! I am sending you website "come together" vibes, web projects have a way of taking FOREVER to complete. Looking forward to seeing it once you're done - oh and congrats on your teeny tiny art show!
