November 2010 .:. Biz Goals

Oh my, my, my how time flies when you are conflicted about choices and unsure about outcomes... So here was October

1. Website, Website Website - finish it already Liz - NOT finished, but another redesign in progress, did I say conflicted about choices, now I see why other designers/artists hire someone else to design their sites for them...
2. Illustration project(s) - 2 in the works - one pretty far down the road in terms of progress, the other in early stages
3. Get back to researching and contacting galleries - nada
4. Get ready for Holiday time both in my Etsy shop and at RooTs - this one is MUCH more pleasing to speak about, have cards ready to go, new prints, and new new new product that will be going up in the shop in a week or so, stay tuned!
5. Let myself breathe and enjoy the lack of crazy deadlines, "busy" is not always a good end goal.

So, lovely November, here we are, and I am sure hoping that you will give me the kick in the ass I need to get myself going. I feel like I'm dragging around and not focusing on any one thing enough to do anything justice. SO, keeping the list short and sweet, and moving on to a new month, with new energy and new direction.

1. yeah, yeah, yeah, finish the bleeping website
2. Continue with progress on new product for Etsy shop
3. Research Galleries
4. Walk through some crunchy autumn leaves

Ugh! I feel you on the website! So many things possible, and you have to CHOOSE between them! Sigh! I LOVE your #4, I don't know about you but I often forget that I'm supposed to be enjoying the ride...sometimes this "hobby" of mine takes over everything!

Hey Liz! Omg I know what you mean. I want to redesign my blog look but there's just so many ideas I have in mind & not enough time! Hopefully you're get your website done & before the holiday season kicks in so one less thing to stress about. And I absolutely love your last goal! I've found when designing my own site and blogs, I have to let go of my perfect idea and just get close to what's in my head. Then, I'll tweak. But at least it get launched!

I will be raking leaves, so I'll make sure I do a bit of crunching too. I like raking :) Enjoy November!

Hey do NOT beat yourself up about the website. As someone who builds them fairly regularly, this unfortunately is their nature. Little technical things ALWAYS come up. And the weirdest things take more time than you think. That you're moving forward is the important part! (But I also agree with what Cyn said about just getting it out there and then tweaking.) You can do it!

once again it's a week into Nov and I'm just getting my goals posted. life sure comes at ya fast some times! Liz, I love #4 of course, leaves are so much fun!
